Scottish-born musician Mike Ogletree blends decades of musical experience with AI-driven storytelling, creating original music and videos that connect his past with today's constantly evolving creative possibilities.
The Blaxcotsman, also known as Mike Ogletree, has spent decades reinventing himself across continents and musical eras. Originally from Scotland, he first came to prominence in the 1970s as the drummer for Edinburgh favourites Café Jacques. During the 1980s he went on to perform with Scottish music icons Simple Minds and Fiction Factory before undertaking session work in Italy and later working as a sound engineer in Los Angeles.
After relocating to New York in 2006, he launched Anacoustic Mind, a project that fused his Afro-Scottish musical heritage with the restless energy of one of the world's most culturally vibrant cities.
Today, Mike has entered a new creative chapter with The Blaxcots—an AI-assisted multimedia project that combines music, film, storytelling, and digital media. Through this evolving project, he documents his life's journey using the contemporary language of audio-visual entertainment, exploring the intersection of human creativity and artificial intelligence while continuing to push artistic boundaries.
