The Blaxcots is the latest chapter in the musical journey of Mike Ogletree, aka The Blaxcotsman — the Scottish drummer who played with Café Jacques, Simple Minds and Fiction Factory.

The name itself is a fusion: Black merging with Scot. It forges identity, heritage and duality into a single word - Blaxcot - Looking Forward.

The Blaxcots is an evolving original music and visual storytelling project exploring identity, culture and what connects us. With roots that extend to the heritage of its Black-Scottish founder and beyond, the project brings together the many threads, influences and shared experiences that drive and shape identity.

It is a project about what happens when decades of musical background and know-how meet a contemporary creative world — a synthesis of life music, original songs, imagined identities and visual stories.
